About Gwinnett County
Gwinnett County is an actively growing community that combines the comforts of the suburbs with the advantageous of big-city living. The county was created in 1818 by state legislature and named for Button Gwinnett, signer of the Declaration of Independence. It is situated approximately thirty miles northeast of Atlanta and occupies the territory near 437 square miles.
Having outstanding parks and recreation areas, it provides its residents with all modern utilities, including gas, electricity, water, trash pickup, phone and cable TV. Gwinnett County offers also a full range of business, entertainment, healthcare and public safety services. Public education opportunities are provided by local library and few colleges.
